Mittens on kittens and balls tied up with string are not the only favorite things we have. That is how the song goes, right? Anyway, it's the end of 2013, and The Book Report hosts – Iann Robinson and myself – are dishing out our favorite things of the year in a series of quick-hit samples, without the trappings of silly "rankings" that tend to permeate these types of lists. We all know taste is subjective by now, right? So instead, how about we all just share some artwork (properly credited, of course) by artists we love? This list isn't exhaustive, and there's plenty of room for additions, but for now, here are ten of our favorite artists of 2013 with quick samples of why they're our favorites. These folks gave us great stuff this year.
