This thing can be blocked using an Ad Blocker from Mozilla Firefox 3 or by taking an anti-virus like Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 which has it’s own kind of Ad Blocker.

download firefox. from mozilla.com
get the extentions: Adblock plus, customize google, ad block plus element hiding helper, and remove it permanently .
restart firefox
go to http://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions suscribe to Easy list usa, adblockrules.org, malware domains, and rickroll blacklist.
go into customizegoogle settings [tools>addons>customize google>options] and tick the box remove ads
use RIP to get any that adblock and custimizegoogle dont get.
download flash and shockwave and youre good to go!
It could also very well be malware. download avg free, and malwarebytes and you should be able to clean it up.
TIP!!: DONT USE INTERNET EXPLORER, it is the most exploited and virus-prone browser there is.
